Blooming Boulevards is seeking Board of Directors Members

Who we are:

We are a group of civic-minded Mississauga residents who love

gardening and want to do what we can to help the environment and promote community well-being. We connect neighbourhoods to nature by providing 1) a network of native habitat gardens to support pollinators and 2) opportunities for inclusive community engagement, education, and collaboration.

 

In 2019, we developed the mission and goals of Blooming Boulevards, became a Mississauga community organization, and registered as a not-for-profit Ontario corporation. After a highly successful three-year pilot program, we are now focused on growing our programs and activities to accomplish even more.

The position:

We are seeking enthusiastic Board Members who are committed to

nature and environmental advocacy by bringing together individuals, communities, organizations, and local policymakers to effect meaningful change.

While preference will be given to Mississauga residents, all qualified applicants are welcome to apply. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in marketing, communications, fundraising, legal matters, or government relations. Additionally, we are looking to fill the executive role of Board Secretary.

Responsibilities:

As a valued Member of the Board of Directors, you will:

• Provide leadership to achieve our mission and uphold our values.

• Execute our strategic vision to deliver on organizational goals.

• Ensure high standards of governance and fiscal responsibility.

• Act as an ambassador for Blooming Boulevards within the community.

Requirements: 

This role is a minimum 3-year term. Time commitment averages 4-5

hours per month annually, with heavier involvement required from January to June.

​

This role also requires attendance of the monthly 2-hour board meeting, plus additional planning and committee meetings as needed.
